The details

This is a general list of rules and expectations.

Sobriety

At SSL we are dedicated to practicing the principles of recovery through an all-pathways approach; therefore, residents are expected to participate actively in recovery meetings and or be of service to the community through volunteer opportunities. At Sophrosyne we are not here to micromanage your recovery, it is our belief that everyone’s recovery is personal to them. Our program is based on accountability, therefore we suggest a meeting a day but understand everyone’s recovery looks a bit different. There are many elements to “working a program of recovery”, and as a client, you will be required to learn this process and follow the program to the best of your ability. All clients must attend the weekly in-house meeting.

Program Expectations

  • Two random drug tests a week. If you are found to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol while you are living in an SSL house, you must leave the house immediately.

  • No use of alcohol or any other mood-altering drugs is allowed.

  • The first two weeks at SSL is a transition period. During the transition period, the curfew is 10 pm (weekends included).

  • If you become aware that another client is using or has broken house rules, it is your responsibility to notify management immediately. Hiding or 'covering' information like this is grounds for expulsion.

  • Managers and owners of SSL require that all clients show the utmost respect for all neighbors and the surrounding community. This includes parking, trash collection, language, noise, attitude, and general behavior.

  • It is each resident's responsibility to keep the house clean and in order. You are expected to keep your room organized and your bed made when you are not in it.

  • All prescription and over-the-counter medications must be kept in your lockbox provided by management.

  • You are responsible for your own valuables. This includes cash, jewelry, personal items, etc. Do not use anyone's personal items without permission. Clients should mark personal belongings if necessary. SSL is not responsible for your personal items while in the house or left in the house.

  • Be aware that your room will be searched by SSL staff periodically or anytime staff deems necessary.

  • The curfew for your time in the house is (12 AM) midnight. Any exceptions to this must be okayed by management in advance (before 2 pm on the day of).
