Who we are

Kyle Vandongen- Founder/ Executive Director

I personally struggled with alcoholism and addiction for many years. I went through many different programs, treatments and sober livings before ultimately achieving my goal of long term sobriety. Now seven years later I am able to share my own experience and give back to a community that welcomed me with such open arms. It is my passion and privilege to provide such a program that I know truly works through my own life experience. At Sophrosyne Sober Living I believe it is up to each individual to find their own path of recovery, while providing the guidance and structure to help do so.

Matthew Trenk- Owner/ Director of Operations

It took me over a decade to overcome my struggles with drugs and alcohol. I’ve been to numerous treatment facilities and sober living homes all over the country. I have dedicated a lot of time to my recovery. With continuous hard work and the support from my peers and family I have obtained long term sobriety. Having the understanding of individuals who have struggled with addiction, I am incredibly grateful to be in a position to offer help and change lives within my community.
